Lesson Plan #2 Audio Story Telling
Objectives
Standards
Speaking and Listening
Presentation of Knowledge and Idea:
5. Create audio recordings of stories or poems; add drawings or other visual displays to stories or recounts of experiences when appropriate to clarify ideas, thoughts, and feelings.
ISTE-T 1.A. Promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness
ISTE-T 4.C. Promote and model digital etiquette and responsible social interactions related to the use of technology and information
Rationale
This lesson was created as a way for students to learn the different innovative ways to use the Evernote Application for the iPad. I think that by having students learn to tell stories out loud it also allows them to become better public speakers in their futures. I decided to have the students use the Skitch Application as well to become comfortable with the different extensions apps that Evernote has and how to use them to enhance their work.
Summary of Significance
This lesson was effective because students had the opportunity to explore two new apps for their iPads. As a teacher, I think that this shows my ability to incorporate technology in the classroom by finding innovative ways for students to use their iPads. In a typical setting, students would have just written a story and drew a picture but, by using technology they are able to make their stories sound more exciting!
- Students will use Evernote to create an audio recording of a story.
- Students will use the extension app Skitch to add drawings to their recording.
