Technology Integration with
Evernote for the iPad
Objectives
Standards
ISTE-T 1.A. Design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity
ISTE-T 2. C. Customize and personalize learning activities to address students’ diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources
ISTE-T 3. D. Model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning
Rationale
Using Evernote for the iPad was chosen for this lesson because of the many different uses it has in the classroom. Evernote is a free tool that can be used to make students more organized. For example when working on a research paper, students can save the different websites they find to Evernote as well as writing their own and incorporating pictures they find.
Analysis of Implementation
For this lesson, I decided to first create a PowerPoint that discussed how to use Evernote on the iPad. This PowerPoint also went through the different extension apps and how this can be successfully used in the classroom. Next, each person was to use their iPad to create a notebook on a topic of their choice that consisted of a typed note, an audio recording and an image. One issue that I had with this was not everyone wanted to use an iPad some chose to use their laptop instead so I had to come up with a way to make the activities work for everyone.
Summary of Significance
This use of technology integration present my knowledge of instructional technology through my research and creativity. My ability to get others understanding and using the application as well as answering questions they have also shows insight to my knowledge.

- Learners will know what the different Evernote extension apps are available for the iPad
- Learners will be able to create notebooks and note using Evernote for the iPad.
