ISTE-T 3.D. Model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning
Rationale
Evernote was selected for this professional development because of how many uses it has for in and out of the classroom. Evernote is a free tool that can be used on any device. This allows teachers to have access to their Evernote anytime and anywhere. Evernote has many uses in the classroom. For example, teachers can use it to communicate with teachers and students. Teachers can create student portfolios or have students create a folder where they can save all of their research for a project.
Analysis of Implementation
For this presentation, we chose to divide up the difference devices and each become an "expert" on Evernote for the device. I think looking back on this what I would have changed was making sure we each had a good background on all the devices so when participants were asking questions we were better equipped with answers.
Summary of Significance
This presentation presents my knowledge of instructional technology through my ability to research, create and collaborate in a virtual world. Also, the ability to present the presentation and answer questions participants had in regards to making Evernote work for them within their school setting.
Objectives
- Learners will have the knowledge to use Evernote on their desktop, iPads and the web browser.
- Learners will understand the uses of Evernote for their classrooms and their personal lives.
